CW+ Arts For All Artist

I have recently been welcomed as a puppetry artist onto Arts for All, a health and arts programme curated by CW+.

CW+ is the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust which invests in health innovation, hospital environments and art in health programming. Arts for All has been developed “to provide meaningful cultural opportunities, which offer distraction, engagement and social interaction to improve patient experience” at Chelsea and Westminster hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital.

Chelsea and Westminster was the last hospital on the If Not Here… Where? tour in 2020 so it is a fantastic opportunity to return, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic curtailed what was possible to do in hospitals and theatres. It feels very hopeful to be able to come back onto the ward after such an uncertain time. I will be bringing puppets and storytelling to the wards and the studio space for both patients and staff. I am excited to see what meaningful difference I can bring, whether it is the ease anxiety, to distract or give a special moment during a difficult or boring stay.
