My name is Joni and I'm a Freelance Creative.
After years of answering "So what do you do?" with a variety of answers I was still trying to figure out what I do.
It was my husband that first called me this and it seemed to encapsulate everything I do, I've done and will probably ever do. I work creatively with everything and anything I do.
I specialise in performing, theatre-making, puppetry, working with biography, workshops, research, using my hands... I tend to just give anything a go with an open mind and an open heart.
Most of my work focuses on mental health having lived with Generalise Anxiety Disorder since I was 11. I'm all about honesty, awareness, curiosity and starting conversation.
All I want is to make lives easier, tell stories seldom told and maybe find something beautiful amongst it.
Second week, lots of culture and expanding my awareness and knowledge on LGBT+ issues
Another Anxiety Attack, hosted by Joni and Natalie is back in the recording studio with very special guests Tasha and Adam from LGBT+Switchboard
An attempt for a weekly round-up of my bits and bobs, experiments and inspirations
I'm starting a new biographical journey with model, burlesquer in training, kidney failure survivor and dear friend Frankie Brand
I'LL START HOW EVERY OTHER BLOG, COMMENT, CRITIQUE, FACEBOOK POST, TWEET AND NEWS PAGE HAVE STARTED SINCE ABOUT FEBRUARY: 2016 HAS BEEN A BAD YEAR.
A first of hopefully more blog posts, looking at the companies that inspire me
BearDog are looking for performers for their event for World Mental Health Day 2016
In which I try and figure out just why a character comedy about agoraphobia bothered me (without going with the obvious) and what needs to be acknowledged when we present mental illness in comedy and on stage.
