Joni-Rae Carrack - Show Reel 2011-16

Theatre

Theatre is my first love and I have always pushed the stories I can tell and the simple power of performance. It is a space to touch minds, challenge hearts and punch people in the guts.

Joni is a puppeteer.

Dana is not.

Dana is a Jew.

Joni is not.

Buttons is a show about their journey to Auschwitz and the stories they discovered on the way.

Using a mixture of live performance, spoken word, shadow puppetry and object manipulation Joni and Dana attempt to recount the story of their ‘sort of’ holiday, whilst exploring the themes of memory, family and war.

Do You Mind? is a one woman show that borrows elements of puppetry, storytelling and traditional theatre to explore anxiety and how it can affect the relationships that many people take for granted. Do You Mind? balances the feel of a solo stand-up show with the depth of theatre to create a piece that can both entertain an audience and allow them room to consider their own emotions.

Do You Mind? has been shown, as a scratch performance, at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (Scratch&Sniff), the Battersea Arts Centre (Hourglass Festival: Scratch) and as a full performance at the Brighton Fringe Festival 2015 and at the Pleasance as a part of the Little Angel Theatre's Suspense Festival 2015.
